Several Youngstown Sheet and Tube company homes demolished in Campbell
A number of the historical Youngstown Sheet and Tube houses in Campbell came tumbling down Wednesday afternoon.
The demolitions along Andrews Avenue and Blackburn Street have been planned for a while.
The Sheet and Tube neighborhoods have been the target of a string of arsons in the last few months.
21 News reported on a major fire at another set of abandoned Sheet and Tube apartments along Booker Street back in May.
In late June, four fires were set at the homes on Robinson Road and Andrews Avenue, leading to Campbell Fire and three other area departments being called in to put out the flames.
Campbell Fire Chief Stephan Drabic told 21 News the fires were suspicious.
Investigators said last week that a single juvenile or a group of juveniles are the most likely culprits.
