Austintown sendoff planned for softball team to Little League World Series

Austintown Community Baseball is inviting the Valley to join in a celebration to send off the 12U softball team to the Little League World Series.

AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio - Austintown Community Baseball is inviting the Valley to join in a celebration to send off the 12U softball team to the Little League World Series.

The team will be at the front entrance of Fitch High School at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday where they will depart for Greenville North Carolina to take part in the games scheduled for all next week.

The team beat Iowa 4-0 in the winner take all game in Whitestown, Indiana.

After an opening-game loss to Iowa, Austintown won six straight games to claim the regional championship.
