There was one big winner near us though they didn't win a billion dollars.

But one customer at Zain Mini Mart in New Castle is around 1,000,000 dollars richer.

Someone likely from New Castle just got a whole lot richer after a winning Mega Millions lottery ticket for one million dollars.

The winning ticket was sold at Zain Mini Mart on East Washington Street in New Castle.

The Pennsylvania Lottery says the winning ticket matched all numbers except for the Mega Ball Number 14.

"The cashier called me and said the lottery is here, we believe the one who won the million dollars is from your store. So I double-check, we still don't know who the winner was but it does come from our machine. So this is the biggest jackpot we've ever had in the store a million dollars," Hamzeh Alfasatleh Owner of Zain Mini Mart said.

As of now, the prize has not been validated but the winner has one year to claim the prize.

Zain Mini Mart will receive a $5,000 bonus from the PA lottery for selling that winning ticket.

The owner intends to use one thousand dollars of that money to give back to one lucky customer at the end of the month.

"Starting tomorrow they just put their name and phone number, put them in a box. At the end of the month we'll just announce a one thousand dollar winner, Alfasatleh added.

He tells us once someone gets lucky with the lottery more folks tend to buy tickets at the location.

"I believe 2017 somebody hit Cash Five for $450.000 and we became very busy after that, and usually whenever the jackpot is high a lot of people play, so the last two weeks we have been very busy with the Mega Millions and Powerball," Alfasatleh said.
