BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Brookfield Police are currently investigating after a fight that led to the stabbing of a man as well as a dog Thursday morning.

According to a press release from Brookfield PD, police responded to a home on the 700 Block of Grover Avenue in Masury in reference to a fight between two men age 58 and 70 respectively.

Police say the fight was over three dogs that were being aggressive and biting one of the males. At one point, one of the dogs along with one of the men was stabbed by the other male.

Both men transported themselves to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The dog's condition is unknown, but police say it was taken into veterinary care.

The incident remains under investigation
