TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - The Trumbull County Commissioners were hard at work allocating millions of dollars in ARP funds for numerous communities across the county.

According to Commissioner Dennis Malloy, commissioners allocated a total of $6 million in ARP funds approving 45 grant applications.

Malloy says the smallest of these was a $10,000 grant for a new generator for the Champion Township Police Department, and the largest was a $1.5 million grant for Eastgate Regional Development Corps for broadband service for northern Trumbull County communities.

Additionally, funds were allocated for numerous other projects including two new ambulances; one for Champion Township and one for Johnson Township and parks in Hartford Township, Kinsman, Bloomfield Township and Gustavus Township with an excess of $100,000 for each park.

In addition, $450,000 was allocated for improvements to Liberty Township's recreational parks in order to address drainage issues and refurbish the diamond at the baseball field.

Other allocations include more generators, as well as various other equipment for various police and fire departments throughout the county. Additionally, every historical society that had requested funding was approved to receive it.

Malloy tells 21 News that commissioners have spent between $33 million and $34 million in ARP funds so far and have about $4 million left to spend.
