EPA Regional Administrator to give update on clean up activities in East Palestine

EPA Regional Administrator Debra Shore will join state and local leaders to discuss the completion of major cleanup projects in East Palestine on Thursday, Oct. 26.
She will be joined by Ohio EPA Director Anne Vogel and East Palestine Mayor Trent Conway at car scrapping area four of the train derailment site.
There have been several major updates in the cleanup process of the train derailment that happened on Feb. 3.
This includes the opening of East Taggart, a primary road in the city that has been closed since the accident for clean up at the derailment site.
The EPA also ordered Norfolk Southern to conduct additional cleanup and sheen investigations focused on the oily sheens and sediments in Sulphur Run and Leslie Run creeks. The EPA says this builds on assessment and cleanup work conducted in the creeks over the last several months.
