Sentencing set Monday for man convicted for role in Braceville firearms theft

CLEVELAND, Ohio - As one of the people convicted for their roles in the burglary of 34 firearms from a Trumbull County gun dealer prepares for sentencing, government prosecutors are asking a judge to order that the four defendants make restitution to the gun dealer.
Brendon Nichols is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court on Monday where he will be sentenced for theft from a federally licensed firearms dealer.
According to investigators, on March 6, 2023, Nichols, Daquantae Kimbrough, Brendon Nichols, and Yaniya Hill broke into Rattlesnake Hill Sporting Goods in Braceville Township and stole 34 guns while a fourth person, Jalen McCall waited outside the store, receiving at least two of the stolen firearms after the crime.
Kimbrough and Hill have also been convicted of theft from a federally licensed firearms dealer. McCall was found guilty of possessing a stolen firearm. All three are scheduled for sentencing on November 7.
So far, 24 of the 34 stolen firearms have been recovered, according to the government.
The arms dealer tells authorities that the stolen firearms are valued at nearly $8,000. Prosecutors want the four defendants to pay that amount to the store owner, along with $1,300 to replace a door broken during the burglary, and another $300 for time spent documenting the losses. Total restitution sought amounts to $9,579.
