Struthers Municipal Court unveils amnesty program for those with warrants
Struthers Municipal Court Judge Jennifer Ciccone has initiated a new Amnesty Program for people with active warrants on non-jailable offenses, traffic matters, as well, as non-violent offenses.
With 1,721 current active warrants, the Amnesty Program gives people an opportunity to voluntarily turn themselves in on any of the eligible offenses.
The Court will then recall the warrant, issue a personal recognizance bond, and set the case for further hearing if necessary.
The program allows citizens to address legal matters without the fear of being brought in by law enforcement.
"The main purpose of the program is to allow individuals with active warrants to resolve their cases without the need for law enforcement intervention,” said Judge Ciccone. “We want to provide a pathway for individuals to address their legal matters in a more accessible and streamlined manner."
Those wishing to take advantage of the program should contact the Struthers Municipal Court at 330-755-1800.
The Court will provide a specific day and time for individuals to report.
To check if there is an active warrant, individuals can visit the Court's website at strutherscourt.com and click on the "Active Warrant List" located at the top of the page. The court updates its active warrant list daily.
