There are a number of contested races for mayor across the Mahoning Valley. Here are the results.

* Voters in Lordstown chose a new mayor for the first time in four decades after current mayor Arno Hill decided to retire. Four were in the running for the open seat, including Robert Bond, Mark McGrail, Danielle Watson, and Jackie Woodward.

Woodward was declared the winner to replace Hill, with 470 votes. Bond had 441, followed by Watson with 309 votes and McGrail with 245 votes.

* The incumbent Mayor of Niles Steve Mientkiewicz defeated Geo Kuriantnyk, 3,720 to 1,281.

* In Cortland, voters chose incumbent Deidre Petrosky over Joseph Ciulla.

* Salem voters had two to choose from when they headed to the polls. The current mayor, Cyndi Dickey, retained her seat, defeating opponent Dennis Plegge with 2,122 to his 1,531 votes. Dickey was appointed and subsequently sworn in as the first female Mayor of Salem in August of 2022.

* Incumbent Mayor of Lisbon Peter Wilson defeated current Councilwoman Dawn Thomas in the mayor's race.

* East Liverpool had three candidates vying to replace current Mayor Greg Bricker. Democrat Darlene Kinsey and Independents Shawn McKinnon and Bobby Smith were all up for the seat, with Smith winning with 946 votes to McKinnon's 540 votes, and Kinsey with 425 votes.

* In New Middletown, the race was close with 298 votes for Mayor Harry Kale, 284 votes for Councilwoman Michelle Myers.

* Wellsville voters chose incumbent Robert Boley to another term over challenger Jack Cataldo, 415 to 223. Boley was elected to the seat in 2021.

* Voters in Hanoverton, Becky Kibler, the wife of the late former Mayor of Hanoverton, Danny Kibler, defeated Gwen Huff. Huff was appointed to replace Kibler after his passing in 2022.
