Warren Police investigators are trying to learn more about a shooting that landed a city man in the hospital.

Officers were called to a Bingham Ave. NW home Wednesday night where they found a man bleeding on the floor.

The victim’s teeth had been knocked out and he had a gunshot wound to the lower back.

Still able to speak with officers, the 27-year-old man said he was at a friend’s home on Carolina Avenue in the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing apartments of Niles Road when two masked men kicked in the door and attacked him, punching him in the mouth.

The man says he ran from the house, hearing a gunshot just before he got into his car and driving away. It was only then that the man realized he had been shot, he told police.

The victim was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of what the police report describes as a major injury.
