A man involved in a drive-by shooting in Niles back in July was handed his sentence in court on Monday.

According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 25-year-old Dontavious Wallace was sentenced to an indefinite prison term of five to six years on charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence.

The charges stem from a drive-by shooting on Clay Street back in July of 2023 when police found several shell casings and a bullet hole near a vacant home. Police say no one was hit by the gunfire.

In addition to Wallace, two others are suspected to have been involved with the incident as well.

Twenty-five-year-old suspect Anthony Butler is currently charged with felonious assault and is awaiting a pretrial hearing on November 29.

Additionally, 25-year-old Brandy Bajwa pled guilty to an assault charge connected to this incident back in July and was sentenced to one year of probation and had to pay a $1,000 fine.
