State Police have filed charges against a 78-year-old Greenville man who they say confessed to molesting a woman after she passed out in his car.

The alleged victim, whose age has not been disclosed, told investigators that she fell asleep in Terry Haye’s car after the two picked up some food in West Salem Township.

According to a criminal complaint, the next thing the woman remembers is waking up in the car in Greenville. The woman claims that her shorts and underwear were disheveled.

Police say Hayes told them that after the woman had fallen asleep, he parked the car near Vernon Road and South State Line Road, and while she was still asleep, removed the woman’s shorts and underwear before touching her genitals.

Hayes was charged with two felony counts of aggravated indecent assault and two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault.

After being booked into the Mercer County Jail, Hayes was released on $20,000 bond awaiting an arraignment hearing in Common Pleas Court in January.
