A white Christmas may put some 'green' back in your wallet

Christmas is clearly associated with snow, especially right here in the midwest.
And if this year brings us a white Christmas Day, your wallet may have a little more green money back inside it.
Komara Jewelers of Canfield Township (near Cornersburg) is announcing its annual Christmas Day Snowfall Contest.
If it snows four inches or more on Christmas Day (measurement location is the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport), any purchases made and paid in full between now and December 17 will be free.
But what are the odds of having more than 4 inches on Christmas Day? Well, the mean average snowfall for Christmas Day since 1948 is 0.4 inches for Youngstown.
The jewelry store began doing the promotion in 2008, and in 2020, paid out to nearly 500 customers when nearly 5.5 inches of snow fell between 12:01 am and 11:59 pm on Dec. 25.
"This is our favorite promotion of the year," said Brianna Komara Pridon. "In 2020, we had over five inches of snow on Christmas Day, and our customers were elated to celebrate and get their money back! It's also great if you already know you're going to buy jewelry for someone in your life, why not make that purchase during these 14 days and cross your fingers for a white Christmas."
Here are the rules: During this promotion, layaways, orders, and previous purchases are not included. All purchases must be made and paid in full between 12/4 – 12/17. For more information, stop in, look at online or call Komara Jewelers at 330-793-9048. Komara Jewelers is open Monday – Saturday and is located in the Coal Creek Plaza on Canfield Road.
