Five-count indictment charges Smith Township man in murder case
According to authorities, the charges stem from the death of 44-year-old Gena Wade of Beloit.
The Mahoning County Grand Jury has found enough evidence to charge a Smith Township man with aggravated murder, murder, aggravated burglary, and violating a protection order.
The five-count indictment was handed up Thursday in the case of 31-year-old Nicholas Cunningham, who has been in the Mahoning County jail since his arrest on November 11.
According to authorities, the charges stem from the death of 44-year-old Gena Wade of Beloit.
According to Smith Township Police, officers were dispatched to a home on the 18000 block of Courtney Road shortly after 3:00 p.m. on October 26 for a medical call.
Police found Wade, who was pronounced dead.
The Mahoning County Homicide Task Force and BCI both assisted at the scene.
