MERCER, Pa. - A 31-year-old Hermitage man faces a court hearing on an escape charge after police say he walked away from a hospital in Erie.

Alex Rabold, 31, was booked back into the Mercer County Jail late Monday, three days after police say he left UPMC Hamot Medical Center where a judge granted a medical furlough to receive medical treatment.

Jail officials say Rabold turned himself in.

Rabold has been serving time in the Mercer County Jail for several misdemeanors.
