A New Castle resident is going to spend time behind bars for for several drug offences.

Forrest Gilmore, 28, has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison for conspiring to distribute cocaine and cocaine base and distributing cocaine base within 1,000 feet of a school while on federal supervised release for a prior cocaine base trafficking conviction.

According to U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan, Gilmore was also sentenced to six years of supervised release following the prison sentence.

Gilmore plead guilty to distributing 450 grams of cocaine and 25 grams of crack cocaine between 2020 and 2021 in the New Castle area.

He was previously convicted and sentenced to five years in federal prison for trafficking cocaine base in the same area. He was released on supervised release in April of 2020 and began trafficking cocaine two months after, according to court records.
