Lakeview Schools working on new 5-year plan prior to March levy decision

The Lakeview Local School District is putting transparency first when it comes to the school levy on the March 19th ballot.
According to the release, the district learned this week that it will get a 12% increase in local funding on inside mills because of recent property reevaluations.
The district says the increase will keep them from the immediate financial crisis they were heading toward, but there are still other unknown variables that the schools could encounter.
One of those variables is a decrease in state funding for fiscal year 2025.
While the increase in local funding will keep the current services and prevent cuts, it doesn't bring the district back to the opportunities provided for students just five years ago.
The Lakeview School District said they're working to release a new five-year forecast and more information on what the proposed levy would provide over the next few weeks.
