In an effort to rebuild an inclusive playground in Firestone Park in Columbiana County, Birdfish Breweing has raised $5,000.

The money was raised through a fundraiser the business held on Feb. 3 at its brewery in Columbiana through its PARK IPA.

The fundraiser, which began at 10 a.m. included food from Smokeworx Street Cuisine, raffle baskets and live music from artists Caitlin Hedge & Dave Lynn.

According to a news release from Birdfish, $1 of every pint poured of the IPA goes to funding special parks projects.

This year, the money will go toward Columbiana Project Playground, which was created to repair and improve the Funland Playground.

The committee is currently in Phase I of their efforts which includes discovery and operating expense-related fundraising which will cover the cost of design renderings, proposal fees and more.

Once they have completed collecting surveys, they will begin to compile data and solicit bids for proposals/designs for the new structure, according to the news release.
