Jury selection got underway Tuesday for the trial of a Campbell man indicted in connection with the shooting death of a man on Youngstown's Southside in late July 2022.

John Morgan, 47, faces two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault, all with firearm specifications for the death of 46-year-old Daniel Peek, who was wounded at a home on East Florida Avenue.

Police say they found Morgan on the scene standing outside of the home with his hands up and a weapon unloaded on the roof of his vehicle.

Peek was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
