The Salvation Army in Salem is set to receive a 20,000 pound food donation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to restock their food pantries.

The food is being donated to address food insecurity throughout Columbiana, Mahoning, and other surrounding counties.

The Salvation Army says the donation "comes at a critical time of the year as families face increase food costs, inflation continues to rise, and
wages remain stagnant."

The Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints says they are committed to assisting the Salvation Army on their fight against hunger in Northeast Ohio.
