Do you want to plant your own vegetable or flower garden, but don't know where to start? Mahoning County OSU Extension has you covered. 

In partnership with the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, Mahoning County OSU Extension will be distributing sample seed starter packets at various library branches on April 25th. 

• 11am-1pm – Austintown Library - 600 S Raccoon Rd, Youngstown, OH 44515
• 2pm-4pm – Poland Library - 311 S Main St, Poland, OH 4451

Each packet contains a combination of carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, or sunflowers and will also have instructions on how to plant and care for your seeds. Limit one packet per participant, while supplies last.

Seed packet distribution is in partnership with the Ohio Department of Agriculture and the Victory Garden – Let's Grow Ohio initiative. Their hope is to revive Victory Gardens in Ohio. 

Victory Gardens have historical significance in the United States as an effort to plant fruits, vegetables, and herbs locally during challenging times to contribute to the cause.
