Y-Live concert on same day as Greater Youngstown Italian Fest

August 2nd is a big day for downtown Youngstown.
Tim McGraw will be taking the stage in Youngstown the same day as the Greater Youngstown Italian Fest.
"We're just really excited to get all of these people down here to our venue and really experience our event," said Jared Laczko, marketing manager for JAC Management Group.
Laczko said August 2nd is the only day Tim McGraw is available.
JAC hopes to sell around 22,000 tickets for the concert. Since the Italian fest sees between 7,000 to 10,000 people a day, over 30,000 event goers are expected to be downtown.
The city works together on events like these to make sure everyone is safe.
"The fire department is always looking to make sure that they can get any emergency vehicles in and out of the site. The police department, the same thing, security on the bridges. They are going to do what they do best and make the area safe," said Charles Shasho, deputy director of public works.
John Rossetti, chairman of the Greater Youngstown Italian Fest, said he plans to meet with JAC Management and the city in the next few weeks. The groups will go over plans and possible partnerships.
"The 2024 Greater Youngstown Italian Fest is excited to work with the City of Youngstown and Y-Live in order to have a successful weekend in downtown Youngstown and in the Mahoning Valley," said Rossetti.
According to Shasho, construction should be done downtown before the events. The Italian fest already moved locations to avoid the construction on Federal st.
Shasho said he will learn more about the city's plans next week.
