EAST PALESTINE, Ohio - National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chair Jennifer Homendy will pay a visit to the Village of East Palestine June 24 and 25 to hold community meetings with residents on the fiery train derailment that hit the village in February of 2023.

These meeting will be open to residents of the village and its neighboring communities and will provide them with the opportunity to ask about the NTSB and its investigative process.

Both meetings will be held at East Palestine High School from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Anyone who would like to ask a question should write their first and last names on cards provided to them and drop the cards into the lottery barrel. During the meeting, a moderator will draw names from the barrel and call guests up to ask their questions.

If you're not comfortable asking your question in person, you're asked to write your name and contact information on the card and leave it at the designated table. An NTSB member will then call you following the meeting.

Guests are asked to keep their questions relevant and concise and if someone else asks their question before they're called up to simply say "asked and answered" or "pass" when called up?

In addition to the community meetings, the NTSB will hold a board meeting at East Palestine High School June 25 at 9:30 a.m. to discuss the final findings in its investigation into the derailment.

The board meeting is open to the public, but if you can't attend in person, it will also be streamed to the NTSB's YouTube page.
