The suspect who had been previously charged with murdering a West Virginia woman earlier this year is headed to prison for 19 to 24-and-a-half years.

That was the sentence handed down Monday to 24-year-old Lamarie Smith, who pleaded guilty earlier to involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault as part of a plea agreement.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in February on Victor Avenue in Youngstown, where police found 29-year-old Deeanna Summers unconscious.

Summers was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Youngstown Police Captain Jason Simon said Smith admitted fighting with Summers before her death.
