Truck driver and motorcyclist give police different stories about East Market Street confrontation

WARREN, Ohio - Just who terrorized who depends on who you ask about a confrontation between a pickup truck driver and a group of motorcyclists along East Market Street in Warren and Howland.
A man told Warren police he was driving a pickup truck along East Market Street near Chestnut Street Saturday evening when about ten motorcycles pulled in front of him and began traveling slowly.
The driver said when he honked his truck’s horn so the cyclists would go faster, one of the riders hit his sideview mirror.
The driver said when he tried to drive away, the group followed his truck to the new traffic light at State Route 82 in Howland where he said ten motorcyclists got off their bikes and began hitting his truck, breaking the rear window.
The alleged victim says they opened the truck’s door, pulled him out, and began to beat him.
One of the motorcyclists interviewed provided additional information to the police.
He claims the pickup truck driver had been tailgating the motorcycles, honking his horn before running into a couple of bikes, forcing one of them into some traffic cones.
The biker told officers that after the truck allegedly ran over one of the bikes, the pickup truck drove away.
Howland Police are investigating the claim that a motorcyclist was run over.
