CAMPBELL, Ohio - A Campell couple face child endangering charges after x-rays showed their three-month-old daughter had ten broken bones.

The charges against 37-year-old Alexander Mercado and 32-year-old Minellis Rivera of Jean Street were filed after police investigated a report from Akron Children’s Hospital that the child had a fractured clavicle, tibia, and femur.

Doctors do not believe the injuries were the result of natural medical deformities present at birth.

Police say that another of the parent’s children, 16 months old, was also examined but did not have any injuries.

Both suspects face hearings next week in Campbell Municipal Court.
