The Struthers City School District is the latest district in the Valley to qualify for free breakfast and lunch for all students courtesy of the Ohio Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

Under the program, all students will receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch for free without needing to fill out an application for a free or reduced price lunch.

However, there will still be a Household Information Survey that will need to be completed. This will be included in students' information packets on the first day of classes.

There will also be a la carte items and additional portions available for students to purchase.

Struthers is one of many Valley school districts offering free lunches through the CEP.

According to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, the CEP helps schools and districts in high-poverty communities meet eligibility to serve nutritious breakfasts and lunches to students at no cost to families.

Any school district can apply for the CEP.
