Youngstown City Schools to provide free breakfast, lunch to all students
The Youngstown City School District (YCSD) is the latest Valley school district to announce that they are providing free breakfast and lunch to all students for the 2024-25 school year.
According to a press release, YCSD is the latest district to announce that it qualifies for Ohio's Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which provides a nutritious breakfast and lunch to all students free of charge.
All students are now eligible for free meals, but families with children who were previously eligible for free meals may be eligible for free health care through Medicaid or Ohio's Healthy Start & Healthy Families programs.
These programs include coverage for doctor's visits, vaccinations, physicals, prescriptions, dental, vision, mental health, substance abuse and more.
Anyone interested in applying should call 1-800-324-8680. If you have an Ohio Medicare card, you're already receiving these services.
