A 14-year-old boy accused of shooting a 12-year-old boy in an attempt to rob him of his shoes is now facing even more charges.

The teen is now facing charges of attempted murder and another count of aggravated robbery on top of his charges of felonious assault and aggravated robbery.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred Sunday night at the corner of Gibson Street and Cambridge Avenue.

Police say the teen admitted to police that he shot the boy while trying to rob him for the shoes he was wearing. However, Youngstown Police Captain Jason Simon told 21 News the teen fled the scene without taking the shoes.

Simon told us he believed the teen didn't grab the shoes because he was shocked with himself.

The teen pled not guilty to all charges against him.
