A new endeavor to address food insecurity and improve access to fresh, nutritious food in Trumbull County’s underserved communities launches on Tuesday.

ACTION and Flying HIGH Inc. are holding a ribbon-cutting event to expand the Mobile Market initiative into Trumbull County.

The initiative follows the path of The Mahoning Valley Mobile Market, which was launched earlier this year. Adding the Trumbull County Mobile Market will allow ACTION and Flying HIGH Inc. to reach even more residents in need.

The Trumbull County Mobile Market will travel to various locations throughout the county to provide fresh food directly to residents. The community is encouraged to follow ACTION, Flying HIGH Inc., and the Mobile Markets on social media for updates on the market's schedule and locations.

Flying HIGH Inc. operates Access Healthy Foods Mahoning Valley and GROW Urban Farm, which produce much of the fresh produce distributed through the Mobile Markets. These programs are part of the initiative's mission of providing healthy food options to communities in need.

Funding for the Trumbull County Mobile Market was provided by the Trumbull County Commissioners and the City of Warren. Voucher funding was provided by Warren City Council, Trumbull County Commissioners, Swanston Foundation, Care Source, Farmers National Bank, Mercy Health, and the Community Foundation.
