Warren man tells police he shot two strays, his own dog after attack

A Warren man told police that he had to shoot three dogs, including his own after it was attacked outside his home on Saturday.

The Bonnie Brae Avenue NE man told police that the two strays attacked his dog in the front yard on Saturday.

The man’s friend was bitten while trying to separate the animals.

The homeowner said one of the strays released his dog after he stabbed it with a knife.

When both strays resumed the attack, the man said he got a gun from the house and shot both.

The man told police that his dog was struggling to breathe after the attack, so he shot his dog as well.

Police are still investigating.
