The Youngstown State football team has not won on the road in 2024.

In their four losses, they've been outscored 198-78, with 73 points coming to a loss against Pitt.

"We have to make sure we're locked in," said cornerback Jaylen Castleberry.

"We have to carry the same mantra we did last week," said guard Aidan Parker. "Road games are tough to win, so knowing the task at hand, we have to be on our p's and q's."

The Penguins are coming off a 41-40 overtime win over North Dakota in their best overall game of the season.

"Sometimes when you have adversity, it brings your team together, and you learn from those, and I'm glad our kids kept on improving," said coach Doug Philips.

The players agree to believe in the process.

"Just being able to come together, through the hard times and with a lot of new guys, you never know what you have in camp. We've done a good job of bonding together," said Parker.

The Penguins and Redbirds kick off at 3:00 p.m. from Normal, Illinois.
