Fresh Gourmet tortilla strips recalled due to undeclared wheat allergen contamination

Ohio & PA - Sugar Foods has recalled 3.5-ounce bags of its Fresh Gourmet Santa Fe Style tortilla strips due to a contamination of an undeclared wheat allergen.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Sugar Foods was contacted on November 19 and was informed that the recalled products contained crispy onion strips instead of the tortilla strips.
The crispy onion strips contain wheat, which is not listed as an allergen on the packaging for the tortilla strips. This poses a significant health risk to those who are allergic to wheat.
No illnesses linked to the product have been reported as of this writing.
The recalled product (pictured below) was sold in 3.5-ounce packaging with an expiration date of June 20, 2025 and a UPC code of 7 87359 17504. The expiration date and UPC code can be found on the back of the package.

The recalled product was sold in stores across 22 states including both Ohio and Pennsylvania between September 30, 2024 and November 11 2024.
If you purchased a recalled product, you're asked to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or simply dispose of it.
