State Police have arrested a Mercer man accused of lying in wait for a man before he allegedly ran into the victim outside a Springfield Township convenience store.
According to police, 29-year-old John Archuleta got into an argument with a 63-year-old Volant man at the Sheetz on Butler Pike late last month.
Police say Archuleta waited in the parking lot and when man he had argued with came out, Archuleta allegedly struck the man with his SUV.
Although the SUV drove away, investigators say they reviewed surveillance footage and talked to witnesses, resulting in the arrest of Archuletta on charges of aggravated assault, assault, and reckless driving.
A District Magistrate set bond at $25,000 and ordered Archuleta to return to court next month.
