Austintown man sent to prison, declared sex offender for raping 10-year-old girl

An Austintown man has been given a 12 to 15-and-a-half-year prison sentence for sex crimes committed against a girl beginning when she was 10 years old.
Kemonie Colpetro, 25, pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony charges of rape and gross sexual imposition during a hearing in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Colpetro was arrested one year ago by Austintown Police and the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
According to a police report, beginning in early 2022, when the alleged victim visited her cousin’s home in Hubbard, Colpetro would sneak into the girl’s bedroom and undress her before engaging in sex.
The girl told a school counselor that despite resisting, the activity continued until late last year, even after her cousin and Colpetro moved to an apartment in Austintown.
Judge Maureen Sweeney also declared Colpetro a Tier Three Sex Offender, requiring him to register his address with authorities when he completes his prison sentence.
