The New Castle Police Department, along with the Lawrence County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA), narcotics investigators also with the New Castle Police Department and the Lawrence County Dsitrict Attorney's Drug Task Force raided a home in the 1600 block of Hanna Street in New Castle. 

A search warrant delivered to the house around 6 am Thursday resulted in an arrest of 34-year-old Juel Demetrius Lewis, who goes by BEAR, who was inside the residence. 

According to the New Castle Police, the search of the house led to officers finding 195.1 gross grams of heroin, 73.1 gross grams of cocaine, 17 oxycodone tablets, 3 digital weigh scales, 3 cellular phones, a 12-gauge shotgun, a Ruger LCP, and $5,726.

Lewis was charged with three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Lewis' bail was set at $100,000 during a preliminary arraignment Thursday.

Lewis will be back in court on March 13 for his preliminary hearing.
