A Youngstown teen was sentenced for a shooting that occurred last July that severely disabled another teenager.

Derrick Darrington was indicted as an adult following a shooting on Woodcrest Ave. on July 27, 2024 that left a teenager partially paralyzed.

Darrington pleaded guilty to second-degree felony charges of felonious assault, aggravated robbery and a firearm specification. The plea was agreed upon by the state.

The judge ended up sentencing Darrington to six to seven and a half years in prison, with two to five years of parole when he gets released.
