Meijer to bring baby gear recycling event back to Valley locations for May

U.S. & Mahoning Valley - Meijer stores across the country are holding a baby gear recycling event once again from May 4 to May 17.
"We know spring is a time when many families are looking to declutter and refresh their homes. That's why we're excited to bring back our baby gear recycling event—giving customers a convenient, responsible way to recycle unneeded or damaged baby items," said Meijer Director of Merchandise Marlys Roberts.
Initially this event was held last fall with approximately 13 tons of baby gear recycled through the event.
Those who participate in this event will receive coupons good for 25% off of baby gear such as booster car seats, bassinets and play yards which can be used throughout all of May.
Customers planning on contributing to this event should bring eligible items such as car seats and strollers to the designated area within the Meijer store.
This is located near the customer service desk which is usually at the front of the store.
"By participating, they not only make space during spring cleaning but also help reduce landfill waste and earn rewards through mPerks. It's one more way we're creating value for families and sustainable solutions in our communities," said Roberts.
Those in the Valley can take part in this event through either the Meijer in Boardman or the location in Austintown.
