The Mahoning County OVI Task Force has announced an OVI checkpoint being conducted on Mahoning Avenue on Friday, May 9.

The OVI checkpoint will be around 4477 Mahoning Avenue in Austintown where the Family Farm and Home store is located.

OVI Task Force states that the checkpoint will be active between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. of May 10.

Along with the checkpoint police will be conducting saturation patrols around parts of Mahoning County.

The OVI Task Force encourages those planning on partaking in alcohol consumption to make arrangements to get home safely.
