Sheetz ready to begin annual month-long fundraising event for children in need

Mahoning Valley & U.S. - Sheetz will be launching their annual month-long, in-store and employee-driven fundraising event intended to help children in need.
On Tuesday, July 1, Sheetz will be working alongside Sheetz For the Kids to collect donations.
Sheetz For the Kids is a nonprofit charity independent of the Sheetz Corporation that seeks to help children in need. According to a media release, the organization was founded in 1992 and has impacted over 182,000 children in areas Sheetz operates within.
Stores will feature a donation option at every check-out to make a donation to Sheetz For the Kids. Last year, over $1.81 million was raised, which went towards helping around 12,000 kids across seven states.
The charity is partnered with Feeding America to provide necessary food to children suffering from starvation and general food insecurity. Last year, Sheetz For the Kids made a $782,000 commitment that helped serve 2.4 million meals through schools, backpack programs, mobile pantries and summer feeding programs.
In addition, the organization has partnered with Make-a-Wish to put some funds towards the wishes of children afflicted with life-threatening medical conditions and to sponsor a child per Sheetz operating district.
This event will be occurring across all 770+ locations throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia and Michigan. There are 12 Sheetz locations operating within the Mahoning Valley.
Other ways to make contributions to Sheetz For the Kids include donating loyalty points in the Sheetz mobile app, buying Sheetz Bros. Iced Coffee, donating directly through Walmart's online order checkout and direct donations at the link here.
