LISBON Crews responded to a fire at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds Thursday afternoon.

According to Lisbon Fire Chief Mark Hall, the incident started around 2:30 p.m. when a food vendor trailer caught on fire. It is believed a propane tank is what caused the fire and damaged the Higgins Concessions trailer.

One man was sent to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The fire was quickly put out and the trailer was removed from the fairgrounds.

The incident remains under investigation.

Higgins Concessions was at the fairgrounds to participate in the first annual Lisbon Fireworks Celebration, which took place from 4 p.m. until dusk Thursday. Judy Noel, the Lisbon Fireworks Committee chairperson, said the committee collected donations for the injured man and his family at the event.
