Those high interest payday loans in Ohio may not go away on Monday after all. The law that eliminates the check cashing loans is scheduled to go into effect on September first. But petitions are being collected to put a repeal of the ban on the November ballot. State officials say the law would be put on hold if those petitions are filed by Sunday night's deadline. Lenders could still offer the loans until voters make a decision, or until the secretary of state determines whether there are enough valid signatures on the petitions.
