Austintown hotel owner looks to serve jail sentence on week-ends

AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio - The owner of an Austintown hotel has submitted his second attempt to get his jail term changed.
Sebastian Rucci has submitted an amendment to a previous request to have a 30 day jail sentence shortened.
According to the motion, Rucci asked Mahoning County Judge David D'Apolito, to allow him to finish his jail sentence on week-ends or through house arrest.
Rucci was booked into the Mahoning County jail earlier this month for a conviction on four counts of illegal liquor sales at the Go Go Cabaret, an adult night club which Rucci used to operate at the same Route 46 location as the Hotel California.
As of Monday, Rucci had completed 20 days of his 30 day sentence. In his motion, Rucci pledges that if the amended sentence goes through, he will complete his time served by August 31st.
Rucci claims in the motion that an amended sentence would allow for him to take care of business matters.
The Hotel California, which Rucci owns and operates, is in the process of being re-named "The California Palms" because of a trademark infringement suit.
