LIBERTY TWP, Ohio - The Liberty Fire Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to an accident involving a school bus and an armored truck early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 8:30 A.M. at the intersection of Shannon Road and Tibbetts Wick Road when the Girard school bus clipped one of three armored trucks. 

According to the Liberty Fire Department, there were 12 students on the bus, but no one was injured during the accident.

The armored truck was stuck in a ditch as a result of the crash. The driver was not injured.

The bus had minor damage.

Students were transferred to a different bus and made it to school safely. 

According to Girard Superintendent, David Cappuzzello, the bus driver will not be facing any disciplinary action since the driver followed standard procedure during the time. Cappuzzello said the driver was required to take a drug test, which came back negative.
