COOLSPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa - A midnight ride on a Jeep through Lake Latonka over the weekend landed a Mercer teen in jail.
Residents along Latonka Drive told State Police that several individuals were “hanging out” of a Jeep Wrangler, possibly smashing mailboxes early Sunday.
Police say when they spotted the Jeep at a home on the 600 block of Latonka Drive, Timothy Dunham, 19, exited the vehicle and walked toward the troopers, ignoring all orders to stop.
Troopers say Dunham began to struggle with one of them, until he landed on the ground, injuring the trooper's leg.
A second trooper took Dunham into custody.
Police later learned that the Jeep had been running over garbage cans.
The teen was arraigned on charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief.
A district magistrate set bond for Dunham at $25,000.
