Warren police stop chase suspect with taser
A foot chase in Warren on Tuesday ended with police using a taser on the suspect.

WARREN, Ohio - A foot chase in Warren on Tuesday ended with police using a taser on the suspect.
An officer says he attempted to detain 26-year-old Sa'Taunt Warfield when he found his car unlocked and running outside the Big Apple Store on the 1600 block of Youngstown Road Tuesday evening.
Police say Warfield began arguing and ran away when the officer attempted to handcuff him.
During the foot chase, in which police say Warfield ran out of his shoes, the officer pulled out his taser, warning Warfield that he would use it if he didn't stop.
According to the report, when Warfield tripped and fell, he was ordered to remain on the ground.
The officer says he saw Warfield attempting to get up and move his hand toward his side.
The officer says he didn't know if Warfield was reaching for a weapon, so he deployed his taser.
While another officer guarded Warfield, police talked to the store clerk who said that he believed Warfield had hidden something in the store.
A search of the store turned up a holster and loaded handgun.
Inside the car, police say they found a baggie of marijuana, as well as suspected Oxycodone and Tramadol pills.
After receiving medical treatment for cuts and bruises he got during the chase, Warfield was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, drug possession, obstructing official business, driving under suspension, menacing and leaving keys in a vehicle.
Warfield pleaded not guilty to the charges in Warren Municipal Court.
