WARREN, Ohio - Ninety-year-old Fred Abraham has been cutting hair for more than six decades.

"I started in '53 downtown and ran into two high school boys at the time. They still come in here until last week. Been cutting their hair that long," said Abraham.

He's sheared and shaved thousands of heads.

"I got most of my education behind the chair listening to these guys. A lot of very good, smart people," he said.

He's also seen his fair share of hairstyles.

"After the Beatles came, the barber business went way down, haha," Abraham said.

But at 90 years young, Abraham is hanging up his clippers. He's retiring and Tuesday was the last day for his Atlantic Street Barbershop in Warren.

"I'll miss the whole thing. I didn't realize I enjoyed my job as much as I did," said Abraham.

The customers who came in for one last trim are sure going to miss him.

"It won't be the same. Fred's been a super person since I've known him," said one customer.

Fred says he can't believe he's been cutting, shaving and shearing for this long. When asked why it took him so long to retire?  "No pension, haha, no pension," he said. "I would have never did it if I knew I would have to go that long, haha."

The beloved barber will now get to rest after a labor of love and lifetime of memories.
