SOUTHINGTON TWP. - A Southington Township road has reopened after a semi truck caught fire Thursday afternoon.

Trumbull County dispatchers say Helsey Fusselman Road at Braceville Robinson was shut down for some time after a tractor-trailer caught fire.

According to dispatchers, the truck driver was able to get out and tried to put the flames out themselves.

The truck appears to be a complete ruin.

Dispatchers say crews had to figure out how to get the wreckage from the roadway.

Also, the Trumbull County Engineer's Office was called out to evaluate the roadway to determine if it was damaged by the flames.

At this time it does not appear that anyone was injured by the flames.

There is no word at this time what may have caused the fire.
