A fundraiser was held Sunday to raise money for a Boardman High School Athlete.
Micah Beckwith is a track and field athlete that competes in the 100, 400 and 800 and uses a racer chair during meets.
Beckwith has competed at the State Meet and earned five All-Ohio honors.
During the track season, Beckwith rents a racer chair and returns it in August.
The community gathered around Beckwith and organized the Sunday fundraiser at Carmella's Cafe to help fund a racer chair for Beckwith to own.
The fundraiser had numerous donations for the Chinese auction and former NFL, and Ohio State Quarterback Mike Tomczak gave away items every half hour.
The goal was to raise $5,000 to purchase the chair, but organizers believe that number was surpassed.
