Warren man accused of holding girlfriend, 6-year-old in home

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man faces multiple charges after allegedly holding a woman and her daughter against their will.
According to the report, 28-year-old Mark Meadows was at a bar on the 100 block of Nevada Avenue SW around 6 p.m. Wednesday with his girlfriend and her 6-year-old daughter.
Police say Meadows became angry after his girlfriend received a text message from someone and told her that they were done.
Reports say the woman and her child left the bar and walked towards her car when Meadows allegedly put his hands around her neck and began choking her from behind.
According to the report, Meadows took the victim's keys and went back to the bar.
The victim told officers that she went to a phone across the street to hide and call for police when Meadows drove her car and grabbed her phone.
Police say Meadows ripped the phone away from the victim and broke the screen.
According to the report, while the victim was on the phone with dispatchers, Meadows could be heard making threats to kill the victim.
Police say Meadows also threatened to kill the victim and the child if they did not get in the car with him.
Reports say Meadows drove the victims to a home on the 200 block of Front Street, where he told them, "there is no leaving this house tonight."
Meadows allegedly told the victim that if she tried to leave, he would "wrap her car around a tree."
According to the report, Meadows left the home, and the victims escaped into the woods before knocking on houses and finding an officer.
The victim told police that she and her child hid for up to 30 minutes before finding the officer.
Meadows was arrested and booked into the Trumbull County Jail.
He faces charges of abduction, petty theft, domestic violence, criminal endangering, and disrupting public services.
